Let's learn about implants
What is a birth control implant?
A birth control or contraceptive implant is a long acting birth control method used by women around the world to delay or prevent pregnancy.
It is a flexible rod about 4cm (roughly the size of a matchstick) which is inserted just under the skin of your upper arm by a trained healthcare provider.
How effective is the implant?
Implants are 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.*

The implant is effective for up to 3 years. However, it can be removed by a trained healthcare provider at any point during that time.
Is the implant right for me?
The decision to use a new contraceptive is a very personal one.
You should always consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
